David and Melinda Evans, along with their six children, are  serving Food for the Hungry (www.fh.org) in the country of Guatemala. David is a graduate from Horry-Georgetown with a degree in Agronomy and has owned and operated his own irrigation company since 1998. He and Melinda sensed a call into full time international missions for the past 8 years and are excited to now be living in Guatemala where David will serve as Economic Development Coordinator through FH's Hunger Corps program. They reside just outside of Guatemala City and work with various people groups in the many regions that fall into the 1$ or less a day poverty range. He does marketing research and assisting other Hunger Corps to educate and equip farmers, and other areas of economic development, in getting their products sold inside Guatemala City with the long term plan of them being exported into the US. This increase in economy should greatly improve the lives of the Guatemalan people and thus open the door for the gospel.

Challenge: To help the people recognize that not only does God speak to us personally but through agriculture and production.  "We can see the one seed inside the fruit but God knows how much food can come from the one seed.  We need to be faithful with the seed and God will bring fruit. There is a great blessing in production and God is the giver of this mighty and great blessing."

The Evans have six children:  Cooper (15), Jacob (13), Grayson (11), Sarah Joy (6), Tyler (4), and Eli (4).
